Test & Audit Technician

SUMMARY

Ensure quality and perform a diagnosis of hardware received by visual inspection and testing functionality of product and report findings. Configure products as necessary to meet order specifications and installation of software by performing the following duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Receive product and perform visual checks to determine physical condition of product and verify accessories (cables etc.) are in working order
  • Record images of physical damages in order to back up reporting making certain labels are being tracked
  • Install image on P.C.'s according to license to help determine functionality of unit
  • Perform diagnostics on servers and ensure proper functionality
  • Test components on all systems, including CD-Rom, floppy drive, hard drive, video card, sound card and modem and ensure proper working order
  • Replace or reconfigure any damaged or malfunctioning components or hardware
  • Configure machines in order to meet specifications of clients as per sales orders, verifying that correct upgrade SKU and quantity has been entered
  • Check drivers on the unit for conflicts or errors
  • Enter correct configuration of machine into JDH (part number, serial number, model number) to allow for proper reporting and tracking paying special attention to accuracy
  • Close lot once all hardware has been Test and Audited ensuring all necessary changes are made and lot closure message is included

Health and Safety Responsibilities

  • Use machinery, equipment and materials only as authorized
  • Ensure Usage of personal protection and safety equipment as required
  • Knowledge of and compliance with safety policy and other health and safety regulations
  • Report all accidents, injury or illness immediately,
  • Report all unsafe acts or unsafe conditions and workplace hazards

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

College diploma in computer studies or one to three years related experience working in with computer hardware; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPETENCIES AND SPECIAL SKILL SETS

Need to be detail oriented and possess effective communication skills written and oral. Ability to work in a team environment is essential.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must be A+ certified and have advanced knowledge of computer programs. Previous hands on experience with Tier 1 computer hardware and its components are a must.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to stand and input data. Lifting equipment up to 25 kilograms may be necessary. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision in order to operate computer equipment or fix hardware.

May be exposed to chemical substances, noise, dust and dirt. Hours outside of regular scheduled working hours may be necessary during busy periods like month-end, year-end and during inventory counts or system events. Work pressure may result from deadlines or work volume.


Account Manager (Commissioned Sales)

CDi is North America's largest distributor of refurbished, brand name computers to the educational market. The Account Manager is responsible for sales and account management to educational institutions in their assigned territory. This position is instrumental in helping K-12 schools to meet their revenue and profitability goals while meeting the needs of their students. This includes cold calling and prospecting, responding to customer sales needs, properly qualifying prospects, applying a solutions selling methodology to the sales cycle, promptly completing proposals and sales activities, closing sales opportunities quickly and efficiently and completing necessary paperwork and implementation steps to set projects in motion successfully. The Account Manager is also responsible for managing the ongoing customer relationship with their accounts.

Primary Responsibilities

Manage and own Account relationships and deliver excellent service to assigned accounts.

Prospect to identify and qualify new potential customers, including cold calling and development of leads through referral channels, to generate appointments and establish relationships including collecting appropriate account information and identifying appropriate contacts at each prospect, and leveraging marketing activities and partner relationships.

Close sales of refurbished computers to prospective institutional customers to meet sales goals and contribute to company profit including preparation of proposals and closing the sale as quickly, efficiently and independently as possible.

Complete all sales paperwork promptly, thoroughly and accurately, to ensure company profitability and maximize our ability to deliver high quality customer service and minimize potential problems or issues in delivery or invoicing.

Work with the Operations Department on an ongoing basis to ensure customer satisfaction.

Maintain all sales resources and databases such that they are kept up to date and accurate.

Effectively communicate with all Accounts. Build a good working relationship and ensure an understanding of the customers' needs and objectives and approach decisions as a partnership with the customer.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated history of sales success
  • Previous commission-based sales experience preferred
  • Outstanding spoken and written communication skills
  • Ability to open conversations and close deals
  • Proven prospecting/cold-calling experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Experience with technology related products is preferred
  • Personally motivated, aggressively goal-oriented
