Removing consumer data and proprietary information from computer equipment and mobile devices is a must in today's hyper-sensitive age of data security. Data privacy laws mandate strict assurances that the information that many companies collect and maintain from customers and clients remain confidential in perpetuity. For example, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, the Health Insurance Portability and Acountability Act (HIPPA), and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) set civil and/or criminal penalties for exposing an individual's financial information or medical records. But while many companies operate in strict compliance with these regulations on a daily basis, they may risk violation when it comes time to dispose of old computer equipment. CDI employs data erasure and verification procedures to ensure that all sensitive data and licensed software is reliably destroyed in compliance with privacy regulations and corporate security policies. We offer the following solutions to protect your company's data security. SANITIZING - CDI utilizes today's most sophisticated methods for data erasure, sanitizing, and verification procedures to ensure that all data is permanently removed. Our overwrite technology reliably erases hard drives to three-pass standards, rendering data irretrievable. Automated processes verify that all sectors of every drive have been successfully overwritten, while physical verification ensures that inoperable drives, or drives with bad sectors that cannot be overwritten, are physically destroyed. PRODUCT RETURN - CDI can remove the drives from the systems with critical customer information and return them to you. TOTAL DESTRUCTION - After removal of the drives from systems with critical customer data they are slated for shredding, and processed as scrap metal. Our total destruction services will permanently delete information making it impossible to recover. |
